10 mineasy2 servings

Ingredients

  • 400 g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Preparation steps

  1. If using frozen shrimp, thaw completely and pat dry with kitchen paper.
  2. Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for approximately 2 minutes on each side, depending on their size.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining butter, minced garlic and chilli flakes, if using.
  5. Stir gently and cook for another 30–60 seconds, until the garlic is fragrant and the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and fresh parsley.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter sauce, or pair with steamed rice, pasta or a fresh green salad.
